چکیده
The emergence of multidrug and extensively drug-resistant pathogenic bacteria able to resist the action a wide range antibiotics is becoming growing problem for public health. search new compounds with potential help in reversion bacterial resistance plays an important role current medicinal chemistry research. Under this scope, efflux pumps are responsible antimicrobials, their inhibition could reverse resistance. In study, reversing activity series xanthones was investigated. Firstly, docking studies were performed AcrAB-TolC pump homology model NorA pump. Then, effects twenty xanthone derivatives on growth evaluated Staphylococcus aureus 272123 acrA gene-inactivated mutant Salmonella enterica serovar Typhimurium SL1344 (SE03). Their inhibitory properties assessed using real-time fluorimetry. Assays concerning these towards biofilm formation quorum sensing have also been performed. Results showed that halogenated phenylmethanamine derivative displayed interesting profile, as far concerned. To best our knowledge, first report inhibitors.

Background: Enterococci spp. bacteria especially Enterococcus faecalis and E. faecium have the ability to acquire antibiotic-resistance pattern and causing life-threatening hospital-acquired infections. So, the aim of this study was to count and isolate of E. faecalis and E. faecium from milk and dairy desserts consumed in Assiut city, Egypt. Methods: A total of 100 raw milk, ice cream, mehall...
متن کاملMolecular mechanisms involved in multidrug resistance in breast cancer therapy
Breast cancer is the most prevalent cancer in women. Chemotherapy is the main strategy in the treatment of this disease especially in the advanced form of the disease. Despite the recent progress in the development of new chemotherapy, the effectiveness of these drugs has dramatically reduced due to multidrug resistance. The phenotype of multidrug resistance (MDR) can occur through different me...

Introduction: Acinetobacter baumannii is one of the most important nosocomial and community-acquired pathogens that is resistant to many antibiotics. Toxin-antitoxin systems are regulatory systems that maintain bacteria and serve as new targets for Antimicrobial therapies are considered. The prevalence and transcription of these systems in clinical isolates is still unknown. The aim of this stu...
متن کاملActivity of ceftazidime-avibactam against multidrug-resistance Enterobacteriaceae expressing combined mechanisms of resistance.
INTRODUCTION Antimicrobial resistance in Enterobacteriaceae is increasing worldwide and is making treating infections caused by multidrug-resistant Enterobacteriaceae a challenge. The use of β-lactam agents is compromised by microorganisms harboring extended-spectrum β-lactamases (ESBLs) and other mechanisms of resistance. Avibactam is a non β-lactam agent that inhibits clinically relevant β-la...
متن کاملResistance-Nodulation-Division Multidrug Efflux Pumps in Gram-Negative Bacteria: Role in Virulence
Resistance-Nodulation-Division (RND) efflux pumps are one of the most important determinants of multidrug resistance (MDR) in Gram-negative bacteria. With an ever increasing number of Gram-negative clinical isolates exhibiting MDR phenotypes as a result of the activity of RND pumps, it is clear that the design of novel effective clinical strategies against such pathogens must be grounded in a b...
